Heritage GardenSo neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow. - 1 Corinthians 3:7
The Heritage Garden is a container garden located between the Family Life Center and Child Development Center. It was planted on May 1, 2011 by an amazing group of Heritage volunteers! We are growing tomatoes, peppers and herbs to give to the Forest Park Ministry Center in an effort to provide fresh vegetables to the least of these (Matthew 25). Check back frequently as this page will be updated with new info about the progress and harvest of this garden, the first in the history of our church. Contact Adam Bishop if you have a desire to help.

Our tomato plants did all they could this summer. We have cut them down and are preparing for a possible fall crop of other vegetables. Our banana and jalapeno peppers are still producing and we will keep them going as much as possible. Here are some totals as of today:
Tomatoes : 67 lbs. 15 oz.
Peppers (Banana and Jalapeno) : 17 lbs. 9 oz.
We also had a few church members who took some extra plants and cared for them at their homes and brought their produce up to the church to give to Forest Park Ministry Center. Here are the totals as of today:
Tomatoes : 12 lbs. 11 oz.
Peppers (Banana and Jalapeno) : 1 lb. 5 oz.
Green Bell Peppers : 3 lbs. 15 oz.
Praise GOD!!!! Contact Adam Bishop if you are interested in helping in the future.

Our plants are still growing! Small buds are starting to form. Jeanne Tuley has done a great job in coordinating people to water our pots. Yesterday, May 16, we installed a drip irrigation system that will hopefully make watering more efficient and consistent.
